Have you ever heard of the Manhattan Project? It was the secret group who designed the Atom Bomb that would ultimately be used to end WWII. It was a huge undertaking to create and although there has been much documented about the secrecy of the development, it is a modern marvel.

The greatest minds in the United States and its ally’s assembled in the desert of Arizona for nearly five years to construct what would end the war. The outcome of the Manhattan Project was successful (right or wrong) and it did what it was intended to do.

If you are wondering why I am talking about this in a blog about resistance bands, put your hand down because I am going to elaborate. I like to make comparisons of things that are totally non related yet somehow make sense when you line them up together.

Hence, a modern marvel of the 1940's and modern marvel of this generation. That's right, the explosion that the atom bomb created can be compared to the explosion created by the leg workout invention that I am about to share with you.

Here goes the explanation. When it comes to resistance band leg workouts there are several options. I’m a fan of nearly all of them and truth be told, I have a fitness platform Fitness Made Easy, where you can actually join me in resistance band leg workouts.

There is one particular piece of resistance band that truly takes the leg workout to a whole other level. In fact, we use it in the Fitness Made Easy platform and I think you could enjoy the benefit from it as much as I have.

This piece of equipment is the secret weapon of the resistance band world and I often wonder if it took a team of the greatest engineers in the world to create it. Was there a five-year plan to construct it in the middle of the desert like the aforementioned Manhattan Project? Honestly, I wouldn’t doubt it as the performance of what was designed can create a workout explosion.

SPRI Xercuff

The secret weapon you ask? Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the SPRI Xercuff. The name itself sounds like something that you would hear NASA dub as the next space craft to orbit the galaxy.

But this isn’t a starship. It is not a creation of Elon Musk that runs on solar energy. No this is a fitness tool that takes your leg workouts to new heights.

Amazingly, it is constructed of a piece of rubber and velcro straps, yet the performance can be compared to a Porsche (humor me). The outcomes that it was intended to produce have been proven (by me) and I believe you (both men and women) will find this uniquely qualified apparatus as must for your home gyms.

How it works is simple, you slide it over your feet and secure the straps around your ankles. And let me tell you, when you are strapped in, you are strapped in. The benefit of that is that you don’t have to worry about the band slipping off and you actually gain confidence by knowing you are secured in.

The Xercuff comes in different resistance band strengths and I highly recommend that you start out with yellow. Here is a short tutorial on the Xercuff - WATCH!

How much space to you need? Minimal, and in fact you can most likely get a great leg workout in from your kitchen if you wanted to. If you think I’m being over dramatic in my review of the SPRI Xercuff you simply have to get one to see what I am talking about.

In the Fitness Made Easy platform we have five-minute leg and butt workouts and you would be surprised at how much you can get done in that time frame. The Xercuff works the outer and inner leg, along with serious emphasis put on the glutes.
